This module provides the learner with the full ranges of skills to produce professional level documents through the use of word processing applications. It includes improving productivity, creating and managing documents, designing professional documents, the use of tables and graphics, mail merging and formatting, outputs and print management. Candidates will be able to use word processing software tools to format and present documents for use in the workplace.

  • Identify why one would use a word processor to create a document and choose the most appropriate tools and templates to create the document
  • Use keyboard or other input methods to enter or insert text
  • Understand and use editing tools
  • Understand and apply appropriate formatting techniques
  • Use appropriate page layout to present and print documents
  • Understand and use Mail Merge function
  • Insert objects and tables into documents
  • Use digital applications to improve the effectiveness of the word document
