Databases are central to the efficient management of data in the modern business. This module teaches the learner how to understand databases, how to create and search for records, how to use tables, retrieve data, understand the use of objects and to create professional outputs. The candidate will be able to use database software tools to create reports and organise data and:
- Understand the key concepts of databases, database organisation
- Understand the key components of a database
- Enter, Edit and organise structured information in a database; common tasks and tables.
- Use Database software tools to produce reports
- Create a database table, for a purpose using specified fields. Enter structures data into records to meet required needs
- Identify the security procedures used to protect data, apply best practice and legal guidelines for the storage and use of data
- Retrieve and amend data records; use queries
- Respond appropriately to data entry error reports and make appropriate corrections
