The main social media channels are covered in detail - including Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and Twitter. Candidates will be competent in their engagement with social media and be capable of utilising the medium appropriately in the work environment and will be able to:
- Understand the concept of Social Media in the workplace; the implications for business, the structural dynamics and how to protect their identity and reputation online
- Apply appropriate social media etiquette when participating in virtual communities; apply security features to help maintain and protect their personal safety and privacy
- Assess the appropriateness of social media sites for their job role and create an effective online presence
- Understand social media concepts; Community management, SEO, search rankings and E-Commerce
- Learn the common features of social networking sites and how to join and communicate online. Understand the World of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube
- Capable of understanding the laws relating to Social Media; privacy, data protection, copyright and accessibility. Know how to develop policy guidelines in regard to social media in the workplace
